Photographs and Music by Louisa Maxwell
More than one in five of England's archaeological sites and monuments are at risk, according to English Heritage. Gunnersbury Park in Ealing has now joined the list. The park was originally the estate of Leopold de Rothschild. It consisted of two mansion house a boating lake, Orangery, Japanese Gardens and buildings dating back to the Georgian era. Upon his death the Rothschild's sold the estate as a park to benefit the local area. Today many of the buildings are derelict or in ruins victims of indecision and neglect.
